On April 29, the LU football team concluded it's spring season workouts by hosting an annual scrimmage at Hunter Stadium.

Conducting the game in a situational format, the offense faced their defensive teammates, replicating potential real-game situations.

The offense began drives from several different spots on the field as they raced against the clock to put points on the scoreboard. The defense was rewards points for holding the offensive line in check and causing any turnovers.

While an official score was not kept, the offense dominated the scrimmage.

Following the game head coach Patrick Ross was very pleased with the way his team preformed.

"They did a really nice job of controlling the tempo of the game, everyone is making great plays on both sides of the ball and our quarterbacks made great decisions." Ross said.

Several of the fans who attended the scrimmage had different feelings on how the team looked including Legacy sports editor, Phillip Scherer who covered last year's 2-9 season for the student-run paper.

"The fundamentals just aren't really there on this roster," Scherer said, "It's a little discouraging not to see much improvement over what I've seen in the past at these games and during last season".

To begin preparation for the upcoming season, the team returned to practice on April 6 for a month of reconditioning. The 16 total practices not only included time in the weight room, but also required players to study game film from last season.
